Valleys Netball Club
Downey Park
Welcome to Valleys Netball Club - the club that runs on the Spirit of Achievement!
Being a member of Valleys with its long and successful history is a both a privilege and responsibility we share as players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and supporters. We are sincerely honoured as a club that our members choose to join with us to play and facilitate the game we love.
Valleys are a foundation member of the Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA) and began in 1974. Many of our members have achieved representation at association, state and national level as players, umpires and officials. Many others have learned to love the game of netball and have made it part of their on-going lifestyle. Valleys caters for all players across this spectrum.
Valleys netball training is on Thursday nights at the Downey Park Courts on Northy Street Windsor.
Valleys play games on Saturdays during the day at varied times depending on age groups and team numbers at Downey Park Netball Association (DPNA)

Junior Competitive
11-13 years
The first 3 years of competitive netball are split into each year born, Under 11, Under 12 and Under 13's.
Players must attend Valleys team gradings at the beginning of the year (starting January) to be place in a team. These gradings are usually done over 2-3 weeks in order for selectors to see consistent performance. This differs from NSG where teams where players are not required to trial and are not placed in teams based on level of skill. Please see our Trials Process Page for more details
Cadets & Inters Competitive
Cadets 14-15 years
Inters 16 years - 19 years
Our two middle age groups are Cadets (14-15 years) and Inters (16-19 years)
Players must attend Valleys team gradings at the beginning of the year (starting January) to be place in a team. These gradings are usually done over 2-3 weeks in order for selectors to see consistent performance.
Players are now in a mixed age group, the pool of players to be put into teams is larger and the competition for positions becomes more difficult. This means players that may have played with certain players in previous years may play with different players in different teams from Cadet age onwards.
Please see our Trials Process Page for more details
Opens Competitive
16 years - Open
Opens division for older players usually above 16
Players must attend Valleys team gradings at the beginning of the year (starting January) to be place in a team. These gradings are usually done over 2-3 weeks in order for selectors to see consistent performance.
As the players are in an open age group and anyone from usually 16+ (commonly 18+) can play in the Opens divisions, the pool of players to be put into teams is larger and the competition for positions becomes more difficult. This means players that may have played with certain players in previous years may play with different players in different teams from Inters age onwards.
